✅ FAKING SPACE – S2:E1 – NASA PLANET IMAGES ARE CGI | FLAT EARTH

Published on Nov 7, 2017

FAKING SPACE Season 2 kicks off with a walk down memory lane, when NASA announced the discovery of the Trappist system in February 2017. Artists created square flat maps for each of the Trappist planets, wrapped them around a ball using 3D modeling software, and made them look like they were floating in outer space. How majestic and awe-inspiring. Their work is showcased on the FTP server linked below. Whoops! On the same server are the square flat maps they used to make the planets of our solar system! How obvious can it be? They wrapped the textures around a ball and animated them just like the Trappist system, and even used similar naming conventions. NASA caught faking space again – this time just taking artist renditions of planets in our solar system to create flat maps and wrap them around a ball. Add a bit of shading and they look like majestic celestial bodies floating in infinite space. But they aren’t. Here’s the FTP server – see for yourself: ftp://public.sos.noaa.gov/astronomy/ —————————————————————————- Twitter: @ItsFlatFolks Email: [email protected] I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE FLAT EARTH SOCIETY.
